Hairy Controversy

A lot has been about hair and his meddling with the Pak's scores in the recentmost concluded match between Eng and Pak. This is the first match which was forfeited in the history of Cricket. mmmm...This is a new record in its own way though not for correct reasons.
The issue was simple , Hair saw the ball's paint had been scrubbed off and "thought" the Paks had cleaned the shean and penalised them 5 runs. Inzy intially carried on the game and I didnt understand what transpired in the dressing room, he didnt walk into the field until both umpires came and asked them to play.After some discussions Paks agreed to continue but the panel decided to stop the play.

Umpires:
We dont think it was a mistake and the rule says that if the ball is made out of shape, the batting side gets an extra 5 runs. We are correct in incorporating the laws

Umpires decisions are final and binding !!

Paks:
We dont cheat . 5 runs is not a problem but we have been disgraced . Hair is a racist and his attitude is wrong against the asians . We dont want to play.

Spectators :
Whoever is right or wrong my money is gone for the day ..

Media :
We got something to bite for a few more days. Hair is correct sometimes , Inzy is correct sometimes , both of them are wrong mostly .

Eternal Peace

The day after I wrote my previous blog a disastrous event struck my life . I lost my father . He was suffering from PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) a nervous disorder which can never be cured atleast for now !!!. Though I was preparing myself for the inevitable, I wasnt yet fully ready to take it on my stride. More than me I felt sad for my mother. The day March 2 , 2005 arrived and it happened. It took me some time to shake me out fo the grief.
Slowly but steadily I started to think about death. Most of us shy away from even talking about death thinking thats an evil. But how many of us thought about the beauty of death.
Death - I would term it as an eternal peace or atleast a journey towards peace .All of us should learn to enjoy death as we enjoy birth. Birth and death are a part of the cycle. How we learn to come out of this cycle is the core philosophy of Hinduism.
If one think with a broader mind one shall start realising that death is not as bad as it is. The way we die is. We all should live this life like this was our last day in this land as we never know when we go away. We should do the best to keep ourselves and our the humanity happy in the way we could.
We should welcome death as we welcome birth. After all death is final place of rest .

Taxing Taxes

This year's budget was awaited with 'great expectations' by countless middle class people in India. He did not disappoint us . He has resturctured the existing tax regime. Typically the salaried class will be benefitted by his announcement . The minimum taxable income has become 1 lakh which is good . Standard deductions have been abolished. This might look like a negative announcement . But then the increase minimum taxable in answers it all .

Also , he has made investments cleaner . prior to this we had limits on various schemes.ELSS was capped at 10000 . Section 88 had a limit of 70000. Also these were rebates at the taxable income .

He has removed all caps and made the retail investor choose the investment option on his own . For a young and aggressive investor like me his new announcement has come as a boon. This could increase equity inflow thrugh ELSS schemes . These investments would be treated as dedeuctions rather than the already existing rebates . Meaning every investor would save 15% tax more than what he was doing before on his investments . Most of us should not forget that Pension funds should be in ones portfolio along with other asset classes.

He has introduced tax on cash withdrawals .This he claims would be serving as tax trails. 10000 is too less an amount to have this introduced. Tax for the money we have already been taxed !!!!

By far this budget has come as a relief for the middle class salaried people .

Of Course one would always wish that we had lesser taxesl . That's human attitude .The more you are given the more we want .
